Rivers 2019: Wike leads with 601,423 votes after collation of 19 LGAs (Photo)

Governor Nyesom Wike this afternoon has stretched his gap ahead of closest Biopkpomabo Awara as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, presented for four more Local Government Areas, LGAs, collated results in continuing Rivers state governorship election.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike In the latest results presented for Ogu/Bolo, Obio Akpor, Asari-Toru and Degema LGAs, Wike stretched Tuesday’s standing with 337, 324 more votes, Obio Akpor alone expectedly accounting for 281,164 of that figure. Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, won all four latest LGAs results released with 304,999 votes difference above African Action Congress, AAC’s Biokpomabo Awara who maintains his second position on the collation with paltry 32, 325 votes.

With the results released so far, incumbent Wike is leading with cumulative 763,603 votes, bringing his cumulative gap ahead of Awara with 601,423 votes as Awara now has 162,180 total votes so far.

State collation Officer, Teddy Adias, gave no indications before he declared a break till 3pm when collation should resume, but indicates are rife that should the commission present results for the four pending LGAs, Wike May be declared winner today if the variance in lead rises above results or figures in areas where lectiona were held.
