‘Rise in self-defence against killers’ – Apostle Suleman tells Benue people

The Senior Pastor of Omega Fire Ministries, Auchi, Edo State, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has called on the people of Benue State to rise in self-defence amid continued attacks by suspected herdsmen on communities across the state.
In a post on his verified Facebook page, Apostle Suleman criticised the Federal Government for what he described as its failure to protect citizens, citing a collapsed security structure and lack of decisive action in the face of the bloodshed in Benue and other parts of Nigeria.
“If the Federal Government knows it is overwhelmed or its security architecture has failed, they should be humble enough to admit it. Self-defence is enshrined in the constitution,” Suleman stated. “I said this when I visited Jos and Benue. We cannot just stand by and watch this continue.”
The outspoken cleric did not mince words as he declared: “People of Benue, defend yourselves. What is happening in Benue State is evil, barbaric, and pure mayhem.”
He also slammed political leaders, accusing them of focusing more on the 2027 elections than addressing the current security crisis ravaging communities.
“It’s ridiculous that some are already strategizing for 2027 while blood is being spilled in 2025. What happened to your humanity? ‘There was a country…’” he wrote.
