Roadside mechanic kidnapped by suspected herdsmen in Otukpo

Peter (surname hidden), a roadside motor mechanic in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State was during the weekend abducted by unknown gunmen at his home off Perfect Avenue near Upu village.

A source told IDOMA VOICE that “two Fulani herdsmen earlier came around Peter’s house on Sunday afternoon and he was kidnapped later in the evening. The kidnappers numbering seven were said to be speaking Tiv and English languages.

“In the process of abducting him, he was beaten and dragged away by four armed men. It was a little bit late when vigilante members came to chase them.”

The kidnappers had demanded N10,000,000 ransom before he would be freed.

However, as at the time of filing this report, Peter has been released and receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Otukpo, IDOMA VOICE can report.
