Robber take over Deeper Life Bridge in Gbagada, arrested

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two suspected traffic robbers, Alaba Ibrahim and Hammed Ibrahim, for dispossessing motorists of their valuables in the Gbagada area of the state.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement on Wednesday, said the suspects were arrested by policemen on a routine patrol following a tip-off that some persons were moving suspiciously on the Deeper Life Bible Church Bridge at Gbagada.

Hundeyin said, “Officers of Ifako division of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested one Alaba Ibrahim, 35, and Hammed Ibrahim, 39, along Gbagada Road. A third suspect took to his heels upon sighting the policemen.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects had been operating at that spot during gridlock, distracting motorists and subsequently carting away their phones and other belongings.

“The suspects are currently assisting the police in an ongoing investigation to arrest the third suspect and other members of their gang. Suspects will be arraigned upon the completion of investigation.”
