Robbers overpower police in Makurdi, cart away with N3m

Three heavily armed robbers on Wednesday of 12th august attacked a car carrying a police micro finance bank money in Makurdi to another bank and word on the street had it that, the vehicle was carrying over 3million.

The incident am told occurred at Konshisha Street in high level 10am near a restaurant called template.

The robbers, were in a sport utility vehicle (SUV) while some said it was a toyota hilux, drove in front of the car and blocked it then shot in the air sporadically as every one around scampered for their safety.

Before a possible reinforcement of men from the Police would arrive, they blew open the door of the vehicle carrying the money and carted away an undisclosed sum. A police officer was shot dead on the spot while the driver who also sustained gun shot wounds survived it, but the cashier was however not harmed in the attack either.
