Otukpo township road: Rockbridge under fire

Rockbridge construction company has come under serious attack for kicking against the reconstruction of Otukpo township road.

IDOMA VOICE recalls that Ochacho was moved by the poor state of the road and decided to give it a face-lift.

The road was some years ago awarded to Rockbridge construction company at the rate of N2bn.

However, the project was abandoned and has become a nightmare to motorists in the ancient city.

Ochacho, through his foundation, decided to come to the aide of the people by embarking on the construction of the road.

However, it was rumoured that some prominent personalities from Benue South decided to report Ochacho to the federal government, leading to the placement of embargo on the work by Federal government.

It could be recalled that the construction was temporarily brought to a standstill since December 13th, 2021 after Ochacho received a letter from the federal government directing his company to stop the work with immediate effect, saying it has already been awarded to Rock Bridge Construction Company Ltd.

It may also interest the public to know that the same Rockbridge has been on the same road for more than 10 years without any headway.

The development did not go down well with many Benue South natives, who came hard on the federal government and Rockbridge, which the described as fraudulent.
