Portugal’s star footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo, holds the title of the highest-paid footballer globally for the year 2023, as reported by Forbes.
Ronaldo, currently representing Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, outearned both Lionel Messi and Neymar during the past year.
The five-time Ballon d’Or recipient also claims the top spot as the highest-earning athlete across all sports.
At 38 years old, Ronaldo’s anticipated total earnings reached an impressive $260 million.
His contract with Al Nassr is believed to be valued at $200 million, complemented by an estimated annual endorsement portfolio of $60 million.
In the earnings rankings, long-time rival Lionel Messi secures second place with projected total earnings of $135 million.
Brazilian forward Neymar completes the top three, boasting a total earnings figure of $112 million.
