History holds it that Roseline Change was the first woman that contributed greatly to to Owukpa Atakekwe”Ogwu” We should commend whom we needed commend.
Mrs. Adah change who hails from Ai-Ujah Owukpa grades the Adu Itabono road down to Ukalegu, Owukpa.
One of the social media activists, Mr. Anthony Ekere, made reference that the Ado transition chairman shouldn’t made mistakes Ada Change made at the Adu, Itabono road. When you take a look at it, Mr Ekere is right. any road grading without without drainage is like vehicle without a wheel.
about two weeks ago, the Owukpa paramount ruler, Chief Emmanuel Odeh appealed to the Owukpa youth to carried out sanitation on the Adu, Itabono road, as vehicles and motorcycles no longer pass through the the road
The Youth did as appealed by the Onomo of Owukpa, but the road still remains dead trap!
Years back, during the administration of Ogwuche Ameh as the Owukpa youth president, we believe in functionality.
We also believe that heaven helps those who helps themselves. On this note,On his assumption of office as at then, he collectively formed a direct labour organization which is saddled with responsibly of excavating and repairing of bad road in the community, so as to make our road relatively motorable.
The objective behind this organization as at then is that, “if the government has forgotten us, we cannot forget ourselves” The project is a brain child of Mr. Victor Ameh Ogwuche the then caretaker president of Owukpa Youth as intend to spread tenacle to Bad road in Owukpa community.
The committee started the manual excavation and scooping of Adu-Itabono Owukpa road with the little resources available and gotten from personal pockets and free will donation. The road workers comprised the volounteerd Owukpa indigenous people (mostly youth) who received #500 per metre.
