It was a black Saturday for Borno State, especially the emirate of Dikwa, as the paramount ruler of the emirate, Alhaji Muhammad ibn Masta elkenemi II, breathed his last breathe at an Abuja hospital in the early hours of the day.
The Borno state commissioner of Information, Culture and Home Affairs, Babakura Abba Jato, who confirmed the death of the Shehu in a statement, said the Governor, Baba Gana Umara zulum, who on an official assignment in Southern Borno cut short his engagement in honour of the departed royal father.
He said the Governor prayed to Almighty Allah for the repose of his soul, his family and the entire Dikwa emirate fortitude to bear the loss, noting that the royal father’s death is a loss to the entire state and the country at large.
The Late Masta elkenemi II until his dead was the shehu of Dikwa.
He was appointed in 2008.
His body is expected in Maiduguri from Abuja.
