The Benue State House of Assembly on Thursday unanimously turned down proposed Ruga establishment some parts of the state.
Buhari government had disclosed that it was working towards establishing Ruga settlements for herdsmen in 12 pilot states nationwide.
Mohammadu Umar, the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, made this known in Abuja on Tuesday.
The Assembly ordered all the local government chairmen to remove any signpost concerning RUGA or anything of such in their areas.
The motion was moved by the majority leader of the house Hon.Tyoapine and supported by all members of the house.
