Russell Brand accused of ‘sexually assaulting actress on Arthur film set’

Comedian Russell Brand has been accused of sexually assaulting an actress, referred to as Jane Doe, while filming the movie “Arthur” in 2010. The lawsuit alleges that Brand exposed himself to the woman on set and forced her to perform sex acts on him in a bathroom stall.

This marks the first accusation against Brand leveled in court and was brought under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which allows accusers a one-year window to sue over alleged sexual abuse even if statutes of limitations have expired. ]

The lawsuit also names Warner Bros Pictures and other companies involved in the film production, accusing them of negligence and aiding and abetting Brand. Brand has previously faced several allegations of sexual misconduct, including rape and sexual assault, and has denied all allegations.

This lawsuit adds to a series of serious accusations against Brand, with the Met Police confirming they are investigating claims.

The comedian married American singer-songwriter Katy Perry in October 2010, just three months after the alleged assault. Brand has vigorously denied all the allegations made against him.
