A Fox News photojournalist, Pierre Zakrzewski, has been killed in Ukraine amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Zakrzewski’s death was announced on-air by Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer, who said: “Pierre Zakrzewski was an absolute legend at this network, and his loss is devastating.”
According to Fox News Media Chief Executive Suzanne Scott, Zakrzewski was killed when a vehicle he was traveling in with colleague Benjamin Hall came under fire.
“Pierre was killed in Horenka, outside of Kyiv, Ukraine. Pierre was with Benjamin Hall yesterday… when their vehicle was struck by incoming fire,” Scott said on Tuesday.
Fox News had announced the attack on Monday, saying both reporters were attacked and injured “while newsgathering outside of Kyiv in Ukraine”.
The deceased reporter had previously covered conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria for Fox News. His colleague, Hall had been a war correspondent in the Middle East and Africa and is the author of Inside ISIS, The Brutal Rise Of A Terrorist Army.
