As part of the three-day Executive Leadership Retreat in Kigali, Rwanda, Nigerian governors, including Benue State Governor Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, were honored with a dinner hosted by Rwandan President Paul Kagame.
The dinner, which took place on Saturday, marked the culmination of the retreat organized and sponsored by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in partnership with the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF).
During the retreat, the Nigerian governors engaged in sessions delving into Rwanda’s successful transformation into an investment destination, focusing on digital technology, urban planning, and socio-economic development.
The closing session featured a compelling dialogue on the theme “Leadership in shaping the future of Pan-Africanism and Integration in a Changing World,” led by President Kagame and the visiting governors. This insightful exchange of ideas lasted over four hours, paving the way for a deeper understanding of the subject matter.
The eventful retreat concluded with the closing dinner, hosted by President Kagame, which provided an opportunity to solidify relationships and collaborations between the Rwandan government and Nigerian government at the subnational level.
