Sadio Mane wins CAF Men’s Player of the year Award

Senegalese forward, Sadio Mane has won the African Player of the Year award ahead of compatriot Mendy and former Liverpool teammate Mo Salah.

Mane who recently joined German champions Bayern Munich has won this honour for the second time, the first being in 2019.

The new Bayern forward was instrumental for Senegal winning their first ever African Cup of Nations. The 30-year-old also qualified Senegal for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar at the expense of former club teammate, Mo Salah.

Mane scored over two dozen goals last season and was pivotal to Liverpool’s double, Champions League and Premier League escapade.

Senegal also won the national team of the year with their coach, Alliou Cisse winning the Coach of the Year.
