Sadiq Umar suffers injury, ruled out for the season

Super Eagles and Real Sociedad striker, Sadiq Umar has been diagnosed with anterior cruciate ligament injury, as confirmed by Real Sociedad.

The new Sociedad signing limped off the pitch in the match against Getafe at the last La Liga Santander match on Sunday.

Umar started the match but was subbed off for Cho in the 38th minute after an apparent ankle sprain.

“Sadiq Umar suffered a right knee sprain during the Getafe-RS match, held yesterday. After the tests carried out today on the player, he has been diagnosed with a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in the right leg. He will a start a physiotherapy treatment. However, he will undergo surgical treatment,” the press release on the official Real Soceidad website revealed.

The club also promised to release further information in few days.
