SAFOBA Abuja Chapter celebrates Omale Godwin Musa’s promotion to Deputy Comptroller General of Customs

The St. Francis College Otukpo Old Boys Association (SAFOBA), Abuja Chapter, on Sunday celebrated one of its distinguished members, Omale Godwin Musa (Set ’83), following his recent elevation to the rank of Deputy Comptroller General of Customs.

The association described Musa’s promotion as a source of pride and inspiration to the SAFOBA family and the Idoma community at large.

Members of the Abuja Chapter turned out to honour him for his professional excellence and years of dedicated service to the nation.

Leading the celebration were the National President of SAFOBA, Ambassador Ogbole Odeh; the Abuja Chapter Chairman, Commander E. Ajenu (rtd); and the Patron, AVM Emmanuel Ejeh (rtd).

Born on June 7, 1966, Musa began his education at LGEA Primary School near Makurdi before proceeding to St. Francis College, Otukpo, where he graduated in 1983.

He later attended Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, where he obtained an LLB in Law. He further earned an LLM in Law from Rivers State University and capped his academic pursuit with a PhD in Law from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

Musa enlisted in the Nigeria Customs Service in 1991 as an Assistant Superintendent and has since served in various commands and headquarters, rising through the ranks to his present position.

He is also a proud member of notable professional bodies, including the International Bar Association, Nigerian Bar Association, International Network of Customs Universities, and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.

Over the years, he has been decorated with several honours and distinctions, including the Federal Republic Medal (1st Class), the NYSC FCT Honours Award (1990/1991 Service Year), Sky Times Award for Maritime Excellence (2007), Royal Merit Gold Award for Distinction (2008), and the Comptroller General of Customs Meritorious Service Award (2012), among others.

The Abuja Chapter of SAFOBA said his remarkable journey from the classrooms of St. Francis College to the leadership of one of Nigeria’s critical agencies is a testament to hard work, dedication, and integrity.
