Salah sets new record as Liverpool beat Ipswich Town 2-0
Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah set a new Premier League record on Saturday, surpassing legends like Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney, and Alan Shearer after scoring against Ipswich Town.
Salah contributed both a goal and an assist as Liverpool secured a 2-0 victory over Ipswich Town in their Premier League opener at Portman Road.
The goal marked Salah’s ninth on the opening day of the Premier League, moving him ahead of Lampard, Rooney, and Shearer, who each scored eight goals in their respective careers on match-day one, according to AS.
During his eight seasons at Anfield, Salah has scored in the opening game of the league seven times. The only exception was last season’s opener against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
