The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Comrade Abba Moro, felicitates with Muslim faithfuls in Benue South and Nigeria at large, on the celebration of this year’s Eid-El-Kabir, urging them to pray for peace, security, stability and unity of the nation.
Senator Moro urged Muslims in the country to remain steadfast and committed to the cause of one, united Nigeria.
In his message on the occasion of the Muslim festival of Eid-El-Kabir, Senator Moro enjoined Muslims to also use the occasion to reach out to the less-privileged.
He said, “I want to urge our Muslim brothers and sisters to always be guided by the attributes and lessons from the life and times of Holy Prophet Mohammed (SAW), which symbolize holiness, peace, love and tolerance. We must put Nigeria first in all our endeavours.”
He urged the Muslim community in the country to be worthy ambassadors of the faith by living out the virtues of Prophet Mohammed.
“ Let me extend my warm greetings to the Muslim Ummah in my constituency and Nigeria at large, as they celebrate Eid-El-Kabir Sallah festival.”
The Senator, who doubles as Vice Chairman, Senate Committees on Army and Inter Parliamentary Affairs, called on religious leaders in the country to continue to preach peace and unity to their followers and display love towards one another, noting that it is only these attributes that can can make Nigeria attain greatness and development.
“It is a season of charity, peace, forgiveness and the celebration of our common humanity as God’s children. We must remember to fend for the poor and needy in line with God’s injunction to be our brother’s keeper.”
