Sam Larry reveals annoying thing Mohbad did to him

Nigerian socialite Balogun Olamilekan Eletu, popularly known as Sam Larry, has shed light on the altercation between him and late singer Mohbad, stating that it revolved around an unsettled debt of N2 million.

The controversy arose after a video surfaced on social media showing Sam Larry and a group confronting Mohbad during a music video shoot with Zlatan. The incident drew ire from the public, accusing Sam Larry of bullying and intimidating the late singer.

In a statement shared on Snapchat and subsequently gone viral, Sam Larry clarified the situation. He revealed that he had paid Mohbad N2 million to perform at his mother’s annual remembrance concert in Ikorodu two years ago, but the singer failed to show up, claiming illness. When Sam Larry sought a refund, Mohbad allegedly explained he lost his money and phone during a raid by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and was financially strained due to leaving Marlian Records.

Despite the unpaid debt, Sam Larry mentioned that he traveled to Kenya in search of new African talent for his mother’s concert. He emphasized that he had been away since August 20 and had no involvement in the events surrounding Mohbad’s death. He stated that he was not aware of Mohbad’s residence, health status, or any other details, and he had moved on from the incident.

He wrote “Two year’s ago, I gave Ileri N2 million to perform at my mother’s annual remembrance concert at Ikorodu.

“The boy never turned up. So I called him to ask why. He then said he was not feeling well.

“When I asked for a refund, he said he lost his phone and money recently when the NDLEA raided his place and since he was leaving Marlian Records, he is now broke, with no commitment to repay.

“I then left, all for me to later hear that this same boy was having a musical video shoot next door, practically the next street to my house.

“So I went there to ask for my money again. We had an argument that lasted five minutes. Even one of his friends insisted he was going pay the money. Up till today one kobo they have not paid me. This was early last year. I have since moved on.

“I travelled to Kenya to find new African act that can perform at my mother’s concert this year. I have been away since August 20!
