An Australian lady, Sarah Mudge, has set her Nigerian ex lover, Stanley Obi and his girlfriend ablaze while the two were asleep.
The incident occurred on Thursday according to Queensland Police, Australia.
It was gathered that Stanley was at home with his new girlfriend when Sarah snuck into their house in Bidyan Boulevard in Logan, south of Brisbane, allegedly poured petrol on them and set them on fire.
Obi died later that night after sustaining about 90 per cent burns while his girlfriend, escaped with minor burns to her throat.
It was believed that Mudge didn’t make it out of the fire alive.
The estranged lovers reportedly had children together.
Some of Obi’s neighbours who witnessed the sad incident narrated their last moments with him.
One of them said, “I got woken up to someone banging on the glass door and I could hear words to the effect ‘call the police’.
“I switched on the lights … I could see a man who was completely naked. He was banging on the glass door, yelling: ‘Call the police, call the police.’
“With the lights, I could figure out it was Stan, my neighbour. When I looked at him, I thought he was burnt.
“So when my wife went to call the police, I took a walk down towards my garage and through the window, I saw Stan’s house, which was ablaze, smoke coming out from the windows.”
Another neighbour said, “He was just obviously in an incredible amount of pain. Apparently he’s a nurse and he just kept saying to us, ‘I’m critical one, I need help straightaway. Tell them I’m critical one, I need assistance straightaway, I’m going to die.’
“He knew he was going to die, he put out his hand to me and my neighbor saying, ‘I’m going to die”
After investigations, legal sources told ABC News that Sarah and Obi had a complicated relationship. The duo were said to have perpetrated domestic violence against each other.
