A civil society organization, Concerned Nigerians has frowned at the arrest of Nicholas Makolo, the videographer behind last Saturday’s viral video alleging the killing of one person by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, in Ughelli, headquarters of Ughelli North local government area of the state.
The videographer was picked by detectives from the Delta State Police Command, IDOMA VOICE REPORTS.
A source said the suspect will be charged to court on allegations of inciting violence, false information and other criminal charges in relation to the cybercriminal laws.
Reacting, however, the group called on the Nigeria Police to release Makolo unconditionally.
It tweeted, “We condemn the arrest and detention of the Videographer behind the Ughelli incident.
“We learnt that the Delta State Police command arrested Nicholas Makolo for releasing the video which sparked the recent #EndSARS outrage. We urge the @PoliceNG to release him unconditionally.”
