Youths under the aegis of Community of Tiv Students Worldwide (CTS) have honoured the Dangote Cement Plant in Gboko, Benue State. President of the National Executive of the CTS, Gever Terver, who presented the Certificate of Honour to the Gboko Plant Director, Jacinto Leyva Miranda, described the award as a way of appreciating the philanthropic gestures of the Dangote Cement company in the state.
Some of the charity works of the company, he said include: The annual scholarship grant for host communities, provision of electricity, boreholes, Community Hospital, tricycles(Keke NAPEP) for economic empowerment and a host of other Corporate Social Responsibilities(CSR) programs.
He said: “With all these achievements by the company, the CTS worldwide resolved there was absolute need to appreciate Aliko Dangote and the Head of Gboko Plant.” Last year,the company remitted a staggering N700million tax to the government of Benue State, even as it launched tricycle and mini depots schemes to boost commercial activities in the state.
