A fresh attack in Zagon Kataf local government area of Kaduna State has left many dead and several houses, as well as properties, burned.
Mr. Luka Magana, a resident of the area who spoke to DAILY POST on Friday, said the attacks were carried out on two villages, Yagbak and Ungwan Ruhugo in Zangon Kataf.
Confirming the attack on Friday, in a statement, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs Samuel Aruwan, said
the military and police authorities have informed the state government of the development.
Aruwan said the Kaduna Government has urged the residents of the two communities to remain calm.
He said the state government was awaiting detailed reports from the military, the police and the DSS at both locations.
He added that the public would be updated as soon as the government receives details of the incident
Aruwan noted that the state Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to carry out an immediate assessment and provide relief materials to the communities.
