President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of a new management team for the Nigeria Customs Service, following the recent appointment of Adewale Adeniyi as the acting Comptroller General of Customs and the retirement of some of the service’s management members.
The newly appointed management team comprises three Deputy Comptroller Generals (DCGs) and three Assistant Comptroller Generals (ACGs). The announcement was made in a statement signed by the National Public Relations Officer of the service, Abdullahi Maiwada.
In the statement, Adewale Adeniyi expressed his gratitude to the retired members of the management for their commendable service and congratulated the newly appointed officers. He urged them to exhibit dedication and commitment to ensuring the Nigeria Customs Service excels in its key mandates of revenue generation, curbing smuggling activities, and facilitating trade.
The appointed officers include DCG FO Okun, DCG MBA Musa, DCG A Hamisu, ACG K Olumoh, ACG AB Mohammed, and ACG A Alajogun. With their appointment, the new management team is expected to steer the Nigeria Customs Service towards achieving greater heights in fulfilling its responsibilities.
