West Bromwich Albion have confirmed that Semi Ajayi will be out for several weeks after sustaining a hamstring injury.
The Nigerian defender was subbed on in the 41st minute during the Baggies’ 2-0 victory over Oxford United last weekend but is now set for a spell on the sidelines.
Ajayi, 31, will undergo a rehabilitation program as he works towards recovery, with the club hopeful he will return before the end of the season.
This marks another setback for the centre-back, who previously missed around four months due to a similar hamstring injury.
Having made 14 league appearances for Albion this season, Ajayi will also be unavailable for Nigeria’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe next month.
