The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Senator-Comrade Abba Moro, strongly condemns the renewed cult-related violence in Ugbokolo, Okpokwu Local Government Area, which claimed four lives, including a Chemist, within the past four days.
The Senator believes that cultism is not part of our culture and must be totally condemned by all and sundry.
He has noted that if the existence of the Polytechnic in Ugbokolo has become a reason for the increasing rate of cult war amongst students and communities, then we must have a rethink of what tertiary educational institution is all about.
Senator Moro, therefore, warns those behind the unrest in Ugbokolo or any part of the land, to desist and turn a new leaf as violence has never been part of the culture of Benue South people.
He has further warned that the long arm of the Law will catch up with the perpetrators, no matter how long it takes.
The Senator further noted that no one, no matter how provoked, should take the life of another human being with such reckless abandon.
The Senator-Comrade calls on law enforcement agencies to get those involved in the heinous act, irrespective of status, to face the full wrath of the law, and to serve as deterrent to others.
He equally tasks relevant security agencies of government and the local vigilante to rise up to the occasion immediately to forestall further bloodshed.
