Sen. Abba Moro reacts to herdsmen attack on Gov. Ortom

The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Senator Abba Moro, condemns in strong terms the recent attack on Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State in his farm located along Makurdi – Naka road in Makurdi, Benue State capital by suspected herdsmen.

He thanks God for sparing the life of the Governor from his attackers.

The Senator views the attack on the Chief Security Officer and No. 1 citizen of Benue State as a declaration of war on the people of the state by the marauding herdsmen and must be condemned by all and sundry.

Senator Moro believes that the attack on Governor Ortom is an attack on all the citizens of the state and must not be allowed to repeat itself.

He, therefore, calls on appropriate agencies of government to rise up to their duties by taking necessary actions against armed herders, who have been disturbing the peace of the country, especially Benue State.

The calmness being enjoyed by the people of the Benue State through the efforts of the Governor and other leaders in the state must not be frustrated by those who have constituted themselves into enemies of peace and progress.

The senator urges the Governor not to be distracted by the incident but continue to defend the interest of the state.
