The Senator Representing Kogi West senatorial District, Dino Melaye has promised to partner with the Senator representing Benue South in the senate, Abba Moro, to ensuring that the Ogobia -Onyagede – Ankpa roads is included in the national budget for 2020.
Melaye made the promise yesterday at the Och’Ugboju’s palace.
The Senator who was in Otukpo to commission several projects executed by Oche Joseph, the founder and promoter of G12, a non governmental organization, decried the deplorable states of the road.
According to him, “Senator Abba Moro is my friend. I will laise with him and ensure that the road is budgeted for with the view to reconstructing or rehabilitating it”.
He showered encomium on G12 for having the mind to embark on the development of his community.
Senator Melaye who was so happy at the philanthropic activities of Mr Oche Joseph was moved by the plight of a cripple who came to the arena of the reception promised to donate a tricycle for the lad who was wearing Chelsea Jersey.
Earlier, the Obande of Ugboju. Chief Solomon Apochi who received the Senator on behalf of the Och’Idoma, Elias Ikoyi Obekpa, said he was authorized by the lion of the Idoma nation to clad the Senator with the Idoma attire as a symbol of his sonship of the land.
He pleaded with the senator to use his connection in ensuring that the road is constructed.
In his words, ” sir, I know you are from Kogi west. I also know that you are a man of the people. I am aware that you have a lot of connection. Kindly use your influence to help in the reconstruction of this road adding, “This road links Kogi via Ankpa. I will be very happy if you can do this for us”
