Senator Abba Moro calls for immediate end to killings in Benue South

The senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro PhD, calls for immediate end to the continued killings in parts of the senatorial district by suspected herdsmen.

Apa, Agatu and Otukpo LGAs have been under bloody attacks by the marauding herders leading to wanton destruction of lives and property.

Senator Moro frowns at the development and calls on both the federal and state governments to take immediate steps to nip the barbaric acts in the bud. He says he can no longer guarantee the continued patience of the affected people who have been waiting on government to come to their aid. He says the victims have been pushed to the wall and will resort to self-help if help does not come to them immediately.

The senator condemns, in their entirety, the recent killings in the land, especially the Sunday and Friday killings in Ogbaulu Community, in Agatu LGA. He says the unprovoked attacks which resulted in the gruesome murder of five armless villagers on their farms are unacceptable. He calls on security agents to go after the perpetrators of the heinous crime and bring them to book.
