The Senator representing Benue South senatorial district, Tuesday, restated his call for the emergence of a Benue South person as governor of Benue State in 2023.
Senator Moro made the call, again, during a high-profile delegation of who-is-who in Benue South, led by the Benue Rebirth Movement (BRM), to the Executive Governor of Benue State, H.E., Dr Samuel Ortom, in government house, Makurdi, to make a case for Zone C.
Senator Moro, who had made the call earlier in 2020 during State Congress of the PDP, said that Zone C should be allowed to produce governor in 2023. He said that the good people of Zones A and B had the cumulative numerical strength to continue to produce the governor and even the deputy, but that it’s not fair. He appealed to the governor to make history by supporting the cause and hand over to someone from Zone C in 2023.
In his words, “Our Tiv brothers should allow one of us in Zone C to produce the governor in 2023. We have capable and competent hands who can continue to build on the foundations laid by the sitting governor and we will not disappoint. The chance to produce governor in 2023 will give the people of Zone C a sense of belonging and help to further unite the State. We are here to appeal to the conscience of our brothers and sister in Zones A and B and pursued them to give us a chance.”
The delegation to the Government House comprised of the deputy governor, Engr. Benson Abuonu; BRM and its leadership headed by AVM Monday Morgan (Rtd); Chief Steven Lawani; PDP State Chairman, Sir John Ngbede; APC State Chairman, Comr. Abba Yaro; Honourable members of the House of Representatives and State House of Assembly from Benue South, Council Chairmen from Benue South, former Lawmakers, youth groups, women groups, etc.
