The Senator representing the good people of Benue South Senatorial District, Comrade Abba Moro thanks the Federal Executive Council for approving the Bill for the establishment of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, Benue State.
The approval was given at Wednesday’s meeting of the Federal Executive Council presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Senator Moro in November 26, 2019 presented before the Red Chamber a Bill
for an act to provide for the establishment of the University.
Senator Moro had while presenting the bill, said the institution would bridge the gap associated with medical personnel if approved.
The Bill was approved by the senate in June 2021 after scaling through Third Reading at the Senate.
Senator Moro thanks members of the Executive Council for the speedy approval of the Bill and congratulates the people of Benue South.
He believes that the approval is a dream come through for his constituency.
The Lawmaker thanks those who contributed in one way or the other to the success of the bill, especially his predecessor, H.E., Senator David Mark, whose noble idea gave birth to institution in Benue South.
He assures that FUHSO will train and produce high quality healthcare professionals that will contribute to the development of the health sector in Nigeria.
