Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has been honored with the Italian Footballers’ Association (AIC) Footballer of the Year award in recognition of his outstanding performance during the previous season.
The 24-year-old played a crucial role in Napoli’s title-winning campaign, marking their first championship in 33 years.
Osimhen’s remarkable contribution included scoring 26 goals in 32 league appearances for the Partenopei.
Despite facing challenges at the beginning of the 2023-24 season and dealing with recent injury setbacks, Osimhen has maintained an impressive goals-per-game ratio, securing six goals from 10 matches after the completion of the 14th gameweek.
Osimhen joins the prestigious list of past winners, including notable names such as Rafael Leao, Gianluigi Buffon, Cristiano Ronaldo, Andrea Pirlo, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who have previously received the AIC Footballer of the Year award.
