Governor Alia Swears in Serumun Aber as Benue’s First Female Secretary to the State Government

Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, on Thursday made history by swearing in Serumun Aber as the first female Secretary to the State Government (SSG), IDOMA VOICE reports.

Governor Alia expressed confidence in Aber’s ability to effectively handle her new role, which includes ensuring smooth coordination across ministries and driving initiatives that promote sustainable development in the state.

Alia highlighted that Aber’s appointment reflects his administration’s commitment to diversity and merit-based leadership, particularly recognizing the vital role women play in society.

“As the first woman ever to be appointed as SSG in Benue State, Barrister Aber’s appointment is a testament to the confidence I, and indeed this administration, have in the abilities of the women of Benue,” he stated.

The governor expressed optimism that Aber’s leadership would contribute significantly to building a more prosperous and inclusive Benue, with a focus on delivering tangible benefits to the state’s citizens.

He urged public servants, stakeholders, and the people of Benue to support Aber and his administration to ensure success.

Governor Alia emphasized that Aber’s background and qualifications made her the ideal candidate for the position, expressing hope that she would carry out her responsibilities with integrity, dedication, and care.

In her response, Barr. Serumun Aber thanked God and Governor Alia for the opportunity to serve, promising to carry out her duties with diligence and dedication.

She committed to working closely with the governor and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the administration’s seven-point agenda, laying the groundwork for a brighter future for Benue.

“As a mother, I understand the importance of fostering an inclusive environment where every voice is heard,” Aber remarked, reaffirming her commitment to building a prosperous and united Benue State.
