Some senior citizens in Oyo state, took to the streets to protest against the nomination of 27-year old Seun Fakorede for the position of a commissioner.
Sharing a photo from the scene, @PatriotAwaking tweeted that the senior citizens are protesting against the appointment of Seun Fakorede as Commissioner for youth and sport.
Recall that Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde nominated the 27-year-old graduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University to serve in his cabinet.
Following the news of the protest from the senior citizens, another group made up of students and representatives of the student association bodies, immediately mobilized into the streets protest in favour of the nomination of Seun Fakorede.
The young people said the nominee has the capacity to deliver and represent the youths well in Governor Seyi Makinde’s cabinet.
The protests started after the House of Assembly announced plans to screen the three commissioners-nominees sent by Governor Makinde.
The lawmakers, who are expected to conduct the screening exercise, are yet to converge at the Hallowed Chamber of the Assembly.
