Seven countries qualify for 2023 WWC round of 16 (FULL LIST)
At least seven countries have solidified their positions in the Round of 16, with more thrilling encounters yet to come at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup in New Zealand and Australia.
In Group B, the host nation, Australia, secured their spot as group winners, while the Super Falcons of Nigeria triumphed as the runner-up, narrowly edging out Canada and the Republic of Ireland.
Group C witnessed the likes of Spain and Japan demonstrating their prowess, confidently progressing to the Round of 16 after securing victories in their opening two matches.
Over in Group A, Switzerland and Norway showcased their strength, both booking their places in the last 16, with Switzerland finishing atop the group, and Norway securing the runner-up position.
Meanwhile, Sweden has already secured their qualification after two games, impressively sitting at the top of Group G with six points. The Swedish team needs only a draw against Argentina to cement their position as group leaders.
