Shehu Sani reacts as Nigerian youths volunteer to fight for Ukraine

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani has likened Nigerian youths volunteering to fight for Ukraine against Russia to those crossing the Sahara desert through Libya and to Europe.
Recall, Naija News earlier reported that over 115 young men, on the 1st of March offered to join Ukraine in its fight against Russia.

The Second Secretary, Ukraine Embassy, Bohdan Soltys, confirmed that over hundred Nigerian youths besieged the Ukraine Embassy in Abuja to help his country combat Russia.

This is coming, days after Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, urged people around the world to join the fight against Russia.

Reacting to the development, Senator Sani took to his Twitter page on Wednesday to disclose that Nigerian youths volunteering are simply taking advantage to escape economic hardships in the country.

He also likened them to those desperate Nigerians crossing the Sahara desert through Libya and to Europe.

He wrote: “Nigerians registering at the Ukraine embassy in Abuja in the name of fighting the Russians are simply taking advantage of the opportunity to escape the economic hardships in the country. They are not different from those crossing the Sahara desert through Libya and to Europe.”
