Shila boys gang kills man over phones robbery in Adamawa

A chilling incident unfolded in Adamawa State as a notorious gang, known as the Shila Boys, claimed the life of an individual in Yola, the state capital, during a phone theft.

Reports from the State Police Command revealed that the authorities were alerted to the tragic occurrence during the early hours of Saturday.

Umar Abdulkadir, aged 37, fell victim to the relentless Shila Boys—a group of young men recognized for targeting individuals with cash, phones, and valuable possessions. Their audacious pursuits often occur in broad daylight but occasionally extend into the night.

Suleiman Nguroje, the police spokesperson, shared that the harrowing event transpired on Ajiya Street, a bustling and densely populated area within the Yola North Local Government Area. It was during this encounter that the gang attempted to forcibly seize Abdulkadir’s mobile phones.

Tragically, Abdulkadir’s determination to retain his belongings met with violent opposition from the youths. He was subjected to multiple stab wounds, culminating in his untimely demise.

Suleiman Nguroje assured the public that a comprehensive investigation has already been initiated. The primary aim is to bring the perpetrators of this heinous act to justice and ensure the safety of the community.
