In the early hour of today being Sunday, I received one of the saddest news of my life as my village people, Adana woke up to meet the cold massacre of their sons and daughters.
Adana community which is about 99% a Christian community woke and started preparing for Sunday service when they were attacked leading to the brutal killing of many.
So far,9 dead bodies were recovered and scores of many are yet to be found.Names of the deceased recovered are Ocheme Daniel(my cousin brother), Ngbede Joseph ( my cousin brother),Oseni, Echechofu Augustine, Mr Adebo Oyigwu, Mrs. Abuya Ali(my aunty), Samson Baba(my cousin), Congi Ali (my cousin) and Mr Odebo Ochela (my uncle). Other dead bodies are yet to be recovered as scores of many are still missing.
As this horrible act was going on, Nigeria army was notified and they quickly rushed to the community. However, before their arrival, the massacre had taken place and the community was burnt down including properties.
The Nigeria army was able to apprehend six Abugbe militias in conjunction with this awful act. I could get three of their names so far and they are.Mr Aboki(Militia leader from Abugbe õlē), Mr Ogolo(the millita leader of Abugbe,Aila axis), Samuel Alade and three others that I am yet to get their names.
Some of the questions that are begging for answers are that why would an Agatu community connive with Fulani herdsmen against the fellow Agatu people? Why will Abugbe who are majorly Christians don’t have single regard for human beings to the point of killing them on Sunday?
Why we hope that the arrested six militias will call other names and also disclose where they do hide their weapons as law enforcement agencies will ensure justice is fully served, I pray that may the souls of my cousin brothers, uncles, aunty and other people massacred by Abugbe people in conjunction with Fulani herdsmen rest in peace.
