Tragedy occurred on Tuesday night after fire gutted some lock up shops in Anozie street in Mile 2, Diobu, Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Properties worth millions of naira were said to have been destroyed by the inferno which started at about 8pm.
An eyewitness said the fire was caused by a spark from a high tension wire around the shops.
The fire spread to shops through the high tension wires.
The men of the Federal Fire Service, however, arrived the scene to put it off with the assistance of youths of the area.
Police operatives were also on ground.
No casualty was reported in the inferno.
