Afrobeats singer Daniel Benson, popularly known as BNXN, has called on the Federal Government to legalize Loud, a potent synthetic strain of cannabis widely used among Nigerian youths.
Despite its popularity, Loud remains illegal in Nigeria, with users facing the risk of imprisonment if caught. In a post on his verified X handle, BNXN made a heartfelt appeal for the legalization of the substance.
He wrote, “Make dem legalize loud for this side o.”
This comes after SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, recently criticized rising singer Ayo Maff for bragging about using Canadian Loud in his song ‘Last Week.’ Hundeyin emphasized that many young people in prison might not be there if they had avoided drug use, pointing out that illicit drugs are often linked to criminal activity.
