Singer, Teni narrowly escaped kidnap (Video)

Nigerian female singer and songwriter, Teni Apata has survived a kidnap attempt by some suspected gunmen in Rivers State.

Regarded as one of the biggest acts in the music industry, Teni featured at the concert on Sunday night but things didn’t go as planned for the award-winning singer.

According to reports and video that has surfaced on social media, Teni was reportedly a target for the gunmen who invaded the event.

A social media user who claimed she was present at the event stated that Teni had to be whisked away by her bodyguard.

The Twitter user wrote:

I was there and it was a mess!!!!!! People were rushed to the clinic because of the stampede.

Asked if the gunmen wanted to kidnap Teni, she replied:  Yes and that’s when her bouncers’ statutes shooting everywhere!!!! Not just towards the sky but everywhere !!!! It was horrible. I just feel bad for her.
