Six people have been killed and others injured in a crash between a truck and an SUV around Ogere on Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
It was gathered that the incident which occurred around 7 am on Saturday was caused by excessive speeding and loss of control on the part of the jeep driver.
The speeding Honda pilot marked LSR 525 FY had lost control of the wheels and rammed into the moving truck with registration number KRV 716 ZV.
The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, Ahmed Umar, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta on Saturday.
He explained that eight male adults and one female adult were involved in the accident, saying that five male and one female died.
Umar added that the only injured victim was taken to Idera Hospital, Ogere for medical attention, while the deceased were deposited at FOS Morgue, Ipara.
The sector commander advised motoring public to drive cautiously, obey traffic rules and regulations and also avoid dangerous driving, excessive speed and wrongful overtaking.
