Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has gone into isolation after coming in contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19.
Governor Tambuwal, who made this known via his Twitter handle, said he had undergone a COVID-19 test.
“Gov @AWTambuwal goes into isolation after coming in contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19. The Deputy Gov will oversee all activities of the state pending the outcome of the test result of the Governor,” the Governor tweeted.
Recall that in the last one week, the PTF Chairman on Covid-19, Boss Mustapha, and Governor El-Rufai of Kaduna State had both gone into isolation.
The Federal Government had said there is a second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and said it has alerted all Isolation centres in the country to reopen.
On December 12, it was reported that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State tested positive for Coronavirus.
It is pertinent to mention that on Thursday, Nigeria’s covid-19 cases rose to 76,207 as the NCDC confirmed 1,145 more infections.
