Some politicians are trying to make Benue State ungovernable – Ortom

Governor Samuel Ortom has once again reaffirmed his commitment to make Benue State a violence-free state.
The governor, whose stick approached is gradually yielding fruits, said he would go after those who are bent on making Benue ungovernable, arrest them and bring them to face the law.
He however accused some political players on trying to ruin the state.

Speaking with Vanguard, the governor is currently out of the country, said tranquility is gradually returning to the food basket state, which witnessed heavy bloodbath recently.
He said, “That has been the process. Some donors came; PRESCOM from Abuja came and we are collaborating together. That is the process we are in now. But after some time, we noticed that there was an upsurge of criminality going on.
“Apparently, those who had these weapons but did not surrender waited to see what government would do and so they came up. And also there were also some political undertone to try to make the state ungovernable.”
