SP John Adikwu’s journey in the Nigeria Police Force was born from a desire to protect his nation and reap the fruits of his labor in service.
However, fate had a different plan, as his life was tragically cut short before his retirement age, IDOMA VOICE repors.
On Friday, October 20, 2023, heavily armed robbers descended upon the ancient city of Otukpo, targeting multiple commercial banks.
To ensure their unhindered operation, the assailants initiated their rampage by attacking the Otukpo Police Division, where SP John Adikwu and his fellow officers paid the ultimate price.
From his formative years at St. Francis College in Otukpo (set 98), it was evident that SP John Adikwu was a man with dreams, and among them was a deep-seated aspiration to become a security professional.
His unwavering determination and commitment were already evident back then. It came as no surprise to those who knew him when he joined the police force and ultimately assumed leadership of the Otukpo Division.
The events of that fateful October day robbed not only SP John Adikwu but also the entire community of Otukpo of a dedicated officer and an individual who had set out to serve his fatherland. His life was abruptly extinguished, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and bravery that will forever be remembered.
In the midst of grief and disbelief, a call for justice rings out. Community members, friends, and individuals who knew SP John Adikwu demand accountability for his untimely death. They insist that those responsible for this heinous act must be swiftly brought to justice.
As the community seeks closure and justice, there is growing frustration at what is perceived as silence from the state government.
Many individuals and community groups are questioning the government’s response to this tragic event. They are looking for a proactive commitment to ensure the safety and security of Otukpo and its residents in the future.
