Starting a farm is no cinch

Various factors must be considered, such as the kind of seeds you want to plant, choice of farmland and size, capital or source of funding, sources of labour, etc.

If you do not consider these things before starting your farm, you might fail.
If you have always wondered how you can start your farm, below are three tips to help you sail through.
The first thing to do is to create a plan.

For example, the idea of Farm4me was conceived in 2017 at the CBN Entrepreneurship Development Centre’s Agribusiness and Economy Seminar.

I spent two years planning and researching before I finally launched the business. If you want to create an agribusiness that would thrive, planning is one thing you can never do without.
The second thing to consider before starting your farm is the financial cost.

Going into the farm business would cost you money, but you can reduce the cost by having an adequate budget to manage costs.

Things like the purchase of equipment, purchase of seeds, fertilizers, and overall cost of production should be calculated too.

This would save you from overspending and provide you with financial insight into what you want to venture into.

The last tip to stating a farm is to belong to a network of farmers.

When you are just setting out in starting your farm, the best thing to belong to a network of farmers to network to benefit from shared knowledge and their experiences.

As you mingle with them, seek their expertise and engage in consultations with them.
You can also watch them run their farm and pick a feather from their cap.
