State Congress: Why we adopted Abba Yaro – Guber Aspirant

The Benue State Chairman of the governing All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Abba Yaro has been commended for his role in securing victory for the Party in the 2015 general elections and his management skills in which he has led the party in the state.

A leading governorship hopeful Comrade Okpokwu Ogenyi, gave these commendations while speaking with journalists shortly after the Local Government Congresses of the party.

Speaking Sunday in Abuja, the gubernatorial aspirant believed that, there was no need for any agitation as the current leadership of the party in Benue led by Comrade Abba Yaro has not only provided the needed leadership but has don everything possible to win Benue for President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.

Ogenyi said, “In Benue, we have adopted the current State Executive led by Comrade Abba Yaro, what we shall be doing on Saturday will be affirmation. This shows how mature our democracy has become.

“I am contesting for the Governorship of Benue in 2019, I had brief the State Chairman and he is interested in deepening democracy, he encourages party participation, he often advises that, as party men, we should situate our campaign on what we can offer instead of insulting authority and pull him down syndrome.

“As the chairman, he is free to support any candidate as Abba Yaro but must support all candidates as the Party Chairman, I think that is what he is doing.

“It could be recall that, on April 16, 2014, Yaro was declared wanted by the PDP police in a ploy to scare he from the political scene, yet, he was resolute, he was determined severally as a result of his steadfastness in securing victory for the APC, he did not give up, he is just the best man for the job.

“Leadership belongs to God and he gives it to whoever he so wishes, yes, I am on the race for the governorship, I will encourage others to join us as well, after all, the more the merrier.”
