Stay indoors – Man raises alarm as soldiers ‘invade’ Benue flogging residents at night

A Facebook user identified as Daniel Uza, has raised an alarm that some yet-to-be identified soldiers are currently invading Makurdi, the Benue state capital, nightly to torture residents.

According to the alarmist, eyewitnesses disclosed that the soldiers usually drive into the town around 9pm-10pm to harass and torture innocent residents.

IDOMA VOICE reports that James Ornguga, the Acting spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue state, was allegedly beaten by men of the Nigerian army on Thursday night in Makurdi, for a reason he alleged was unknown to him.

Uza, warned Makurdi residents against going out at night.

He wrote; “Acting Publicity Secretary of the APC in Benue State, Hon James Ornguga was one of those beaten by soldiers last night in Makurdi.

According to reports from eye witnesses, the soldiers usually drive into town from North Bank around 9PM-10PM and start flogging innocent people.

Please, Makurdi residents stay indoors at night.

Thanks.”

Makurdi the Benue state has been under series of militia attacks especially the outskirts of the town, but there was no curfew in place.

The Nigerian army was yet to react to the allegations as at the time of filing this report.
