Sterling Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to empowering Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) by extending its support beyond financial advisory services. As part of its strategic efforts to create an enabling environment for young entrepreneurs to flourish, the bank introduced the innovative “Business Hub.”
During the ‘Start to Scale Summit’ organized by the bank, Bolanle Tyson, Head of SME Digital Products at Sterling Bank, emphasized the need for comprehensive support for small businesses beyond financial assistance. The Business Hub, conceived by the bank, provides a safe and conducive community for young entrepreneurs to foster ideas, develop their ventures, and grow their businesses.
The bank’s dedication to promoting SMEs and skills development in Nigeria is reflected in the establishment of the Business Hub. The first of its kind, located at Adebola House in Ikeja, is dedicated to nurturing the Fashion Industry. Within the hub, a co-sewing space is available, granting fashion business owners access to sewing machines, ironing tables, and weaving machines for a nominal fee of 2,000 Naira. The Business Hub also encompasses a well-appointed meeting room, a comfortable lounge, and even houses a modeling agency.
Bolanle Tyson stressed the bank’s belief in the vital role played by small-scale enterprises in driving economic development. The platform provided by the Business Hub allows ingenuity to flourish, empowering the aspiring entrepreneurs to upskill and achieve their business aspirations, even amidst the challenges posed by the current economic climate.
