The Lawmaker Representing Ado, Okpokwu and Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, Hassan Saleh is currently at the receiving end of harsh criticism for practicing what has been termed as political prostitution.
Saleh was among the 36 lawmakers, who dumped the All Progressives Congress for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Tuesday on the floor of the House of the Representatives.
His defection to the PDP came barely one year after the gangling lawmaker had joined the APC from the former party.
However, his back-and-forth political lifestyle irked his constituents who descended on him with verbal bullets.
Throwing the first punch was a popular activist, James Ogbu, who described Saleh as a political prostitute, who is chasing his personal interest.
“Wait, did I just hear that Hassan Saleh just dumped the APC for the PDP again? This is nothing but political prostitution. This man should be ashamed of himself because he is only fighting for his pocket. I also heard he is contesting for senate, okay na, we are waiting. #dustsmyPVC.
Also reacting to the development, president of Idoma Youth Frontiers, Edeh John Edeh described Saleh as an unrepentant enemy of progress of Enone.
In a chat with our reporter on Wednesday, Edeh, said Saleh was only representing court who imposed him on the people of Ado, Okpokwu and Ogbadibo.
“I am not surprise because he is has no tangible project in his constituency. He has decided to make himself and enemy of progress. Saleh’s case reminds me of the biblical statement that ‘a wicked man runs when no one chases him.”
“Let him keep running, we pray he doesn’t kiss the dry wood soon,” Edeh said.
Similarly, other constituents, while responding to the development, described Saleh as a political liability.
It could be recalled that Saleh had in November 2017 politely rejected the bill seeking for the establishment of a federal university of health sciences in Otukpo, Benue State.
His action drew a slew of controversy as many of his constituents moved to recall him for making himself an enemy of progress.
